WARNING: If you are attempting to install banners on square poles wider than 5", the shape of the pole will not allow the banding to get proper tension around the pole and the hardware. You will end up with loose hardware which can damage the light pole and/or the banner. See: #5510-S Deluxe Base Spacer for a solution.

Acceptable Banding per light pole by banner size - minimum requirement (see chart above):
QR  =  4 ea. quick-release bands per pole
    QR2 =  6 ea. quick-release bands per pole
HD1 =  3/4" HD band and buckles, one wrap of banding around the pole
HD2 =  3/4" HD band and buckles, two wraps of banding around the pole (strongest)
    n/a   =  not advised

NOTE: When using HD banding and buckles with Fixed hardware, you do not have the adjustability that you have with the Adjustable hardware. Each time you change banners on Fixed hardware, you will need to break the HD banding and re-band when installing a new banner. Maximum adjustability and ease of banner replacement is always available with the Adjustable hardware where the base casting is permanently banded to the pole with the HD banding.

CALCULATING HOW MUCH BANDING TO ORDER

Note: The amount of banding (and buckles) per light pole is the same whether you are installing hardware for one or two banners per pole (The hardware for two banners shares the same banding).

Quick-Release Banding

For "QR":  Multiply the number of lightpoles on which you will be installing banners by 4 (four). We recommend adding a few extra bands for errors, etc. This is the quantity of Quick-release bands to order directly from us.

For "QR2: Multiply the number of lightpoles on which you will be installing banners by 6 (six). We recommend adding a few extra bands for errors, etc. This is the quantity of Quick-Release bands to order directly from us.

HD 3/4" Stainless Steel Banding and Buckles

For "HD1" (one wrap of banding around the pole):  In most cases, you can expect to install brackets on 10 to 14 light poles per 100' roll of banding. For a conservative estimate of your needs, divide the number of light poles by 10 and then round up to a full roll. This will be the number of rolls to order.

For "HD2" (two wraps of banding around the pole - this gives the best compression around the base casting and the pole and the strongest installation):  In most cases, you can expect to install brackets on 5 to7 light poles per 100' roll of banding. For a conservative estimate of your needs, divide the number of light poles by 5 and then round up to a full roll. This will be the number of rolls to order.

For 3/4" stainless steel buckles (These are necessary to secure the HD banding): Multiply the number of light poles by 4 (four). We recommend adding a few extras. This will be the number of buckles needed for your installation of HD 3/4" banding. Round up to the nearest box of 100, as these are sold only in full box quantities of 100 buckles per box.

For HD Banding Tensioning Tool (this is necessary to install and tension the HD banding and buckles): Order 1 (one) tool per installation crew.

If you need help with your order, please email us with:
  1. The quantity and size of the banners you will be installing
  2. Will you be installing one or two banners per light pole?
  3. Is this a long-term installation where you will be changing out banners periodically or just a temporary (up to 3 months) installation?
  4. Are there any severe weather or wind conditions to consider?
  5. If you know the diameter or the circumference of your poles - that would be helpful.
  6. Any other information you think might be pertinent.
